Valerie has completed training specializing in offering therapy via video conferencing in an ethical and safe manner. We meet via a secure telehealth platform provided through Simple Practice. This functions as the electronic medical record, client portal, and telehealth platform. It is web or app based and makes connecting remotely possible. Detailed instructions are provided at intake.

The Department of Health and Human Services defines Telehealth as:

“[The] use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health, and health administration. Technologies include video conferencing, the internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.”

Telehealth is not the same as in person therapy. There is the potential for more distractions and more intrusions into the session. It allows us to connect at more flexibletimes, makes getting to therapy less of a time commitment. It can also help to make it more accessable if you are injured or other challenges. Valerie is dedicated to protecting your privacy during our sessions, and minimizing distractions and intrusions on her end.

At this time, Valerie can see clients located in Georgia or Flordia for telehealth. Clients living outside of these areas should find a provider who is licensed in their state.
